Maria is the Head of Production for BBC Studio’s Natural History Unit based in Bristol, United Kingdom. In this lead operational role, Maria works to continuously drive improvement and move the business forward, working hard to align productions with genre strategy and ensuring that the NHU’s productions are amongst the best in the world.

Within the NHU Maria’s portfolio includes Springwatch, Blue Planet Live, Animals with Cameras, Dynasties, and Seven Worlds One Planet.

Many of the productions involve fresh and new challenges to deliver new and never seen before animal behaviour to the audience. Maria works closely with Productions, the Exec group, BBC Commissioning, BBC Worldwide and many Co Producers combining her 20 years of knowledge of experience in the TV industry with her love of natural history.

Prior to becoming the Head of Production at the NHU Maria worked as a Production Manager for BBC Entertainment, BBC Features, BBC Docs and BBC NHU working on many titles including Dragon’s Den, Comic Relief & Nigellissima. Additionally, Maria has worked in the indie sector for TwoFour Productions & Keo Films.
